Completed Folder: The Default Download Folder simply gives Autoget a starting point when "guessing" at folder names both when they are pasted from lists and when you assign them by pressing the "guess" button. This does not control where your files download to. Autoget was designed to be as unobtrusive as possible, and changing where files go would be annoying and is unnecessary since mIRC gives you all the options in the world for controlling this.

Viewer: You can view lists in Autoget with Notepad (which is much faster for big lists), the Internal Viewer (which lets you hit F5 to request and performs searches), the Tree Viewer, or any other text file viewer you choose.

Maximum Number Of Files To Que Using Active Method: Use this setting to control the number of files Autoget will try to maintain in queue when using the Active method.

Maximum Search Results Shown When Searching Lists: When you're searching lists and you're not all that specific or you have a whole bunch of lists to search you could come up with way too many search results. Now I thought about making a timer to control this so you wouldn't get a ping timeout while searching but that slows the process down and I'm all about speed. So my solution is a limit on the number of search results you can display. On my system 1000 results was pushing it so I set the default to 500 to make sure that things would go smoothly. What takes all the time in the process is outputting to the dialog, searching lists themselves is quite fast, so as long as you keep your search strings specific you should find the search very useful.

Default Download Method: If you start downloading something from a server in a channel not in the channel list, Autoget will use the Default Download Method. The channel list doesn't limit what channels you can download from, it only controls what channels are joined automatically and allows you to set a Download Method for the channel. Autoget will work just fine on channels not in the list but you'll be limited to the Default Download Method until you add the channel to the channel list.

Downloading Methods: Autoget has four downloading methods which can be assigned to channels on an individual basis. Autoget is driven by information sent by the server you are attempting to download from. The requests are not arbitrary, they are event driven thus avoiding requesting loops and channel flooding. For example, if you request one file from a server, and Autoget doesn't receive a reply from that server, no further files will be requested unless the server actually sends you a file.

· Lazy: Autoget will only request another song from servers in the specified channel when a file is sent from that server. This is slow and generally not recommended but it allows you to control the number of files kept in a persons que directly. For example, if you request 2 files from a person and they are in a "Lazy" channel, Autoget will continue to request another file every time a file is sent resulting in 2 files remaining in the persons queue constantly. Autoget can dynamically adjust the number of files it requests based on the number of queue slots the server will allow you to occupy, so this should only be necessary for servers not directly supported by Autoget.
· Active: This is the recommended setting, it will keep a user-selected number of files in a persons queue at all times. Again Autoget will adjust if for example a person only allows you 2 files in queue and you're preset for 4.
· Mean: If you're one of those people that doesn't trust downloading scripts and just prefers to queue everything humanly possible all at once, this is the setting for you. When a channel is set to mean, Autoget will queue every file the server will allow. If you are downloading from several people in a channel set to mean, you risk getting kicked for flooding. But if you are just downloading from one person, and that person allows you like 50 queue slots, then "Mean" may be the way to go.
· Custom: There are a couple channels out there that get a little paranoid about how much you are requesting. For those channels there's the Custom setting. This setting buffers your requests and only sends them to the channel on a timed interval set as part of the custom setting. The custom setting functions just like the Active setting, only buffered. Also, the Custom setting or any other setting for that matter, will never ever request more than one file from a person at a time. So if you are set to request 2 songs every 2 minutes and you're only downloading from one person, you'll only be sending one request every 2 minutes. This may sound wasteful but it's essential to properly control the number of files you queue. Basically requesting more than one song at a time just makes a big mess.
