Welcome to OmenScripts

Home of OmenServe

The flagship script of our little family is OmenServe. It is the leading @nick serving package available to IRC users.

Since 1998, OmenScript files have been downloaded over one MILLION times; and are currently in use by over 90% of all IRC List Servers. They use them to share photos, videos, music, books, and almost any other form of media. All those users can't be wrong, with years of scripting experience, and that many users helping to find bugs, there isn't a better selection of serving scripts available.

OmenServe is constantly being upgraded to meet technological demand. Even without any demands, the OmenScripts team is always finding ways to make it better. Be sure to check the downloads section to ensure that the version you have is the most current available.

There is no other serving package available that can match it's features, ease of use, low CPU usage, and bug-free operation. If you have any questions, or need any help, check out the support forums, or ask one of our many users on IRC for live help.

OmenServe OmenServe

For Good? For Evil?

QUESTION: Is it for good? Is it for evil? Is is for legal file sharing? Is it for illegal file sharing?

ANSWER: NONE OF THE ABOVE - OmenServe does not do any file sharing at all, mIRC does.

A close example of using OmenServe with mIRC, would be like activating 'cruise control' on an automobile.

Cruise control makes an automobile go no faster or slower than the automobile motor can already go and it is up to the driver to follow the legal speed limits with his automoblile. In the same way OmenServe does not alter how a mIRC user 'drives' or uses mIRC and using Omenserve makes its use no more, or less, legal. Whether what the user does with mIRC and Omenserve is legal is a issue for him to decide.

OmenServe adds NO ability to send files (legal OR illegal) that mIRC does not already have. ALL it does is activate mIRC's features automatically so the user does not have to manually type the commands, just as a driver sets the cruise control at a speed he wishes, without having to keep his foot on the gas pedal. For example:

1. OmenServe watches the screen for commands sent to the user of mIRC, by other users of mIRC.

2. OmenServe answers those with mIRC commands, just as the user could type, if the user wanted to do so manually.

The authors of OmenServe recommend that users always follow the laws applicable to their use of mIRC and Omenserve and in particular the laws of their locality or region, and never suggest or encourage that ANY laws should be broken.

The above is the personal opinion of the OmenScripts authors. It is not legal advice nor must it be construed as such. The authors accept no liablility whatsoever or of whatever kind or however caused whether directly or indirectly as a result of the use or installation of Omenserve or otherwise. Omenserve is supplied subject to the terms and conditions contained within its software licence.

OmenServe     History of OmenServe

This all started with a script named SDFind by SDsailor.

SDsailor unfortunately left us all too soon, he was a good friend, a good scripter, and he is still missed.

Omen continued adding features to SDFind, and then released it (with permission) as OmenServe, and also created the original AutoGet.

And that is how it stayed thru version OS v1.34 and AG v6.3.

During that time Tipi was involved with an addon named OS-Limits, adding functionality to OmenServe.

Tipi found mp3oholic, the creator of ListMagic, and the OmenScripts team was born; Omen, Tipi, & mp3oholic.

This was OmenServe v1.40 - that version was still pretty much SDFind, added features, and the first fast list maker. A SDFind on steroids, and OS-Limits as a separate script.

After that Omen's personal life got too busy to allow scripting time, and Tipi took over OmenScripts development.

Tipi released v1.41 & v1.42.

At this point ^eMpTy^ joined the team, and did a complete rewrite of AutoGet, the only thing retained from AG6 was the name, it was a totally new program.

^eMpTy^ also worked with Tipi to add multi-network to OmenServe.

These were OmenServe v2.00 and AG v7.0.

Both OmenServe & Autoget took on a life of their own at this point, with very little left from the original programs bearing the same names.

From this point OS & AG went two separate ways, ^eMpTy^ doing AG, and Tipi doing OS.

Around OS v2.24 DukeLupus joined Tipi in OS development. His specialty was DLL's, adding speed, and CPU friendliness to OS. OS would not be what it is today without 2 things, Tipi's hard headiness to keep on the original vision path, and Duke's ability to create DLL's that increased speed & power.

And this is how the team is today, basically Tipi & Duke continuing the OmenServe development. If there is any sort of logic on who does what, it's Tipi doing the .mrc and Duke doing mostly the .DLL's.

It is our belief that this team has created the most powerful, user friendliest mIRC serving script available.

The Team is now just Tipi & Duke, but none of this would have been possible if not for those before us; sailor, Omen, mp3oholic, and ^eMpTy^

OmenServe     Donations

All OmenScripts services are offered for free, but supplying them is certainly not cost free.

Any donations to help us recoup the cost of operations is appreciated!
(any extra that would send the team to Aruba for a week would be good too!)
